Douglas-fir stumpage price and other species

This page tracks public timber sales by the species they offer. Douglas-fir is charted as a monthly volume-weighted average of sold green sawtimber sales priced in MBF that offer Douglas-fir alone, so each point is a Douglas-fir price, not a blend. A sale that offers several species reports no single price, so it stays off the chart.

The Oregon Department of Forestry publishes something no other tracked agency does: the winning rate for each species group on a sale, so a sale of Douglas-fir and hemlock shows one rate for each. The species-group table collects those rates. ODF does not publish the volume of each group, so the table gives medians and ranges rather than a volume-weighted average, and a rate on a small or low-grade group can sit far from the median. Every other species a sale notice names is summarized below with its tracked sales. Federal CCF-priced sales are listed but not blended into an MBF average, since the units differ. Species is reported by the selling agency and is not always published, so a sale missing a species does not appear here.
